Benin forward Adnan Aziz is exploring a move to South America and hopes to approach Argentine second-division club Chacarita Juniors. The club has not confirmed any contact, offer or agreement.
The 24-year-old striker, born in Djougou, northern Benin, has already played football in Italy, France and the Czech Republic. He is now looking for a project that will let him keep developing, and Argentina has caught his attention.
Football is central to Argentine culture, and the country is known for its technical quality, high intensity and loyal supporters. For a forward with experience in several European leagues, it would be a very different test.
Aziz’s journey so far
Aziz was born on January 1, 2002, and started out in Benin with Soleil FC and Tchémabi FC. In 2018 he moved to Italy to join Pro Cittiglio, then spent two seasons in France with Angers MFC.
A brief spell at Czech side FK Králův Dvůr in 2020 was followed by a return to France with Olympique Saumur, where he stayed until 2022. He then went back to Italy, representing ASD Licata Calcio and later ASD Juvenilia Roseto, where he remained until 2025.
According to the figures supplied, the 1.86m right-footed striker has made 147 competitive club appearances and nine friendly appearances. He has also played for Benin’s under-23 side, scoring once in three friendly outings. He has no recorded appearances at U20 level.
Why Chacarita Juniors?
Chacarita Juniors is among the clubs Aziz hopes to approach. The Buenos Aires side competes in the Primera Nacional, Argentina’s second tier. The league is divided into two zones of 18 teams, and the two zone winners meet in a one-off final to decide the champion and the first promotion to the top division, according to La Nación.
The club is having a difficult season. A 1-0 home win over Deportivo Maipú on matchday 34 left Chacarita on 36 points in 17th place, La Nación reported. That suggests attacking reinforcements could be welcome, although there is no indication the club has shown any interest in Aziz.

What needs to happen next
For any move to materialise, several steps would have to be completed:
- Contact: Aziz or his representatives would have to open talks with the club.
- Assessment: Chacarita would need to evaluate his profile, possibly through a trial or video analysis.
- Registration: The necessary transfer and registration procedures would have to be completed.
For now, his aim is to present his background and earn a chance to show what he can do on the pitch.
A familiar path for African talent
Aziz’s career follows a route many young African players take, adapting to new countries, coaching styles and competitive demands as they chase opportunities abroad. Our feature on African footballers building careers overseas looks at others on similar paths.
His Benin U23 appearances also tie his personal ambitions to the wider growth of Beninese football. More in our Benin football coverage.
