The Jigawa State Area of Meeting has licensed the proposed constitutional modification in quest of the status quo of state police in Nigeria.
The Speaker of the Area, Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, introduced the approval right through plenary on Tuesday.
He mentioned the approval is aimed toward strengthening group policing and bettering safety on the state and native govt ranges.
He defined that the proposed modification used to be transmitted to the Jigawa State Area of Meeting for attention following its passage through the Senate and the Area of Representatives.
The advance paperwork a part of ongoing efforts to decentralise policing in Nigeria and provides state governments better accountability for addressing safety demanding situations inside their jurisdictions.
Recall that the Nationwide Meeting has given a 30-day time limit for the state legislatures to keep in touch their positions, on both supporting or opposing the invoice.
