President Bola Tinubu had nominated Omokri in November 2025 along 68 others, together with former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode and previous Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee, INEC, chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
The Senate showed the nominees in December 2025, whilst the President licensed the posting of 65 ambassadors-designate on March 6, 2026, with Omokri assigned to Mexico Town.
