‘Betta Edu’s name, role define moral decay in Nigeria’s democracy’ – Mahdi Shehu

Political commentator Mahdi Shehu has criticised the inclusion of Dr Betta Edu within the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Marketing campaign Council, wondering her function within the birthday celebration’s arrangements for the 2027 common election amid reviews of investigations involving her.

Shehu made the remarks in a publish on his respectable X account on Thursday, following the inauguration of the APC Presidential Marketing campaign Council on the Dinner party Corridor of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

President Bola Tinubu had charged Edu, who serves as Director of Ladies Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Marketing campaign Council, participants of the Ladies’s Directorate and different birthday celebration leaders to accentuate grassroots mobilisation and paintings in opposition to victory within the 2027 elections.

Reacting to Edu’s inclusion within the council, Shehu described her as a pampered baby-kisser and puzzled whether or not the birthday celebration had moved on from the controversies surrounding her.

Recall that on Wednesday, President Tinubu charged Betta Edu and different APC ladies leaders to mobilise reinforce for the birthday celebration forward of the 2027 common election.
